What type of startups does SAGE support?
Companies that present at SAGE are early-stage startups who have an innovative technology or business model. The SAGE program has supported startups that were born in a university setting, at a community meetup, or in an entrepreneur’s garage. Entrepreneurs do not have to be working on their business full-time to present to SAGE.
Upon graduating from SAGE, startups typically move on to incubators such as Innosphere’s full incubation program in order to seek angel funding or work on other business milestones.
How does SAGE work?
Each month, a promising company gives a presentation to SAGE Advisors. Following the presentation, the group provides real time feedback to the presenter, then an advisory team is created to provide the presenting company with additional advice on an ongoing basis over the next 3 to 6 months.
SAGE Advisors provide early-stage companies with mentoring assistance as they prepare to become sustainable businesses. They have deep industry, application or functional knowledge that helps to round out the experience of the entrepreneur and their team.
