Advanced Industries and the Colorado Economy: A Diagnostic Assessment of an Asset at Risk

Colorado's advanced industries employ about one in eight workers in the state, yet they generate nearly 30% of sales revenue and 35% of exports. Their average salary is $156,066, which is 85% above the statewide average. That growth is now under pressure. Since 2019, 98 companies have left Colorado or chosen to expand elsewhere, and the state now ranks 49th for cost of living.
